When To Get a Hearing Test

We get our eyes tested, we go see the dentist and the doctor on a regular basis, but we usually don't get our hearing tested until there is a problem.

There is no better time to get your hearing tested than now. Even if your hearing is normal, it is not a waste of time. It will be valuable to have a baseline test in case there are issues with your ears or your hearing later on, then you will have something to compare to; and you will gain insights as well as educate yourself about your own hearing.

As a general rule of thumb, if you are 60 years or older, and have not had a hearing test yet, you should make it a part of your routine medical check. Getting your hearing retested every 3-4 years isn't a bad idea, or sooner if you notice some issues come up.
